A tour of old Savannah from an African American perspective, the Negro Heritage Trail tour is a unique opportunity to learn about the history and contributions of African Americans in Savannah.  It spans the founding of the colony to the slave years and Civil War and civil rights eras. 

Enjoy touring in a comfortable, climate-controlled tour bus, as your drive points out over 30 historic sites.  You’ll also disembark to view the Beach Institute of African American Culture in more detail.  The tour lasts about one and ˝ hours.
     
Getting Tour Tickets.  Tickets are $20 for adults, $10 for children, and children under ten ride free with a paid adult.  Tickets can be purchased by credit card by calling the King-Tisdell Cottage Foundation at (912) 234-8000.  You may also purchase tickets with cash or credit card as you board the tour bus.  To ensure seating, however, reservations are required.

Tour Pickup Spot

You can pick up the Negro Heritage Trail Tour at the Visitors Information Center, located at 301 MLK Boulevard. Pick up is at 10 am and 12 noon, Tuesday through Saturday.

Call (912) 234-8000 for group discount rates, which must be arranged in advance.  Step-on tours for other tour busses are available.  Advance reservations are required.
